Photographed a Wisconsin wedding Saturday, August 4, 2012 with Steve and Carrie up by Green Bay, Wisconsin.  It started out really hot, up in the 90′s.  The ceremony was outside at her parents home.  Everything was beautiful!  Everyone spent so much time in decorating and all the beautiful landscaping, it was simply amazing to see.  The reception was at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

As the Wedding Ceremony starts it gets darker, and then the wind picks up.  Then it gets extremely windy, rain starts, and then it just starts pouring, coming down sideways in buckets. Keep in mind there was no cover over the Bride and Groom or the guest seating area. Guest were running for cover under the text area, few at a time. The pastor keeps asking them if they want to continue and they keep saying yes. Needless to say it was quite the experience. Musicians music blew away, flower vases blowing over, champagne glasses, decorations, little baskets of food for guest, with popcorn, etc … everything got wet and was blowing away.  Small flower tubes with rose petals were flying through the air.  Through it all the Bride and Groom kept smiling and laughing and still completed the whole ceremony. Scott got completely soaked, thank goodness we brought extra clothes for backup. Was amazing to see and photograph. Thank goodness we had our assistant Emily with us to capture more images and help.

Then when we were driving to the reception we had to pull off on the side of the road because you couldn’t see anything in front of us.  The hail and wind was horrific, our car was rocking back and forth with the wind, thought we were caught in a tornado.  Quite the experience yesterday. Everyone loved seeing all the images right away yesterday when we put together a slideshow for the reception.   All in all .. they didn’t let the weather bother them, they kept smiling and still enjoyed their beautiful wedding day.  Will be posting a slideshow of images later, be sure to check back to see the slideshow.
