Preparing for WPPI convention

We are preparing to leave for our annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention shortly.  Its going to be a great year!!

We are meeting some of our clients in Las Vegas, Nevada to do their engagment session on the strip.   Check back to see some of their images; its going to be an excitng time.

Milwaukee Wisconsin Photography workshop

Here is another of my favorites from the photography workshop by David Beckstead back in September at the Milwaukee Art Museum.  We helped David with the workshop. David is an amazing teacher, all about composition and light.  Check him out if you ever have a chance.   All three of the models  did such an amazing job.  Thank you again girls, you were all fantastic.  The dresses were supplied by Zitas bridal.  Thank you again Kelly for supplying the beautiful high end gowns; they all were were amazing.

I wanted to post something for any wedding couples planning their wedding and all of our photographer friends. Scott and I just returned from Jamaica; doing a destination wedding. Something important I think couples need to be aware of if they are planning on just having just the photographer from the resort. Most times your only going to receive formals of your day with some pictures of the ceremony. Also the equipment is very important. On our recent trip to Jamaica, the Bride and Groom told us they had a photographer included but were planning on telling him they didn’t need him. We told the couple to tell the photographer to go ahead and still take the pictures. Why not; its more pictures for them. Well; the equipment he had was nothing special. To be honest, when we spoke to the wedding couple, Joe and Cherise recently and asked them about their pictures they told us they didn’t even bother picking them up. They weren’t impressed by him as well with his equipment or anything he did. They had 8 free 8 x 10’s coming and didn’t even what them for free.

This should at least give any upcoming wedding couples something to think about if your planning a destination wedding. You defiantly want to bring along your own professional photographers to cover your special day. When Ambiance Studios llc Photography shoots a Destination Wedding; the couple will automatically receive 3 days of coverage from Ambiance Studios llc Photography.

The Day Before, covering an intimate engagement session of the two of you and your rehearsal and dinner and some photos afterword’s of you and your guest . We also went to the Dunn’s River Falls with the wedding couple earlier in the day with all their family and guest. Capturing them going up the falls together hand in hand like a human chain. Adding that to their story into their wedding album. Priceless ….its a keepsake for all of their family and guest as well.

The Wedding Day, starts with you getting ready, all the details of your whole day from beginning to end, including a private session of the two of them for some fantastic images at sunset.

The Day After can be done at sunrise or sunset the next day; or 2 days later is sometimes preferred so your not getting up early the day after your wedding. The couple chose sunrise; these are some of their favorite pictures as well as mine. Then to complete this session Joe and Cherise jumped into the infinity pool. It was comical to watch about 20 by standers watching at 7:00 am in the morning … gasping …holding their hands over their mouths … their not going to jump into the pool and get her dress all wet before the wedding are they … not realizing that they were already married. They were the talk of the day; you could hear people talking about what they’d seen to other quest the rest of the day. The couple choose 2 images from the day after session / Trash the dress session for their thank you cards.

Of course your family and friends will also want some special pictures of themselves, and that is included as well. There is much more to shooting a wedding then just the traditional pictures. With all the special equipment and gear, as well as lighting and techniques used are important; as well the knowledge of your photographers. We will also research the area for many different photo opportunity ideas to give you something extraordinary, above and beyond; telling your story so you can relive your wedding in much more detail.

Another fantastic idea; is we can print pocket sized mini albums that are identical to your wedding album and you can send them out to your all your guest, all your family and friends. Its a nice keepsake for them as well.

Great .. I’m in the process of having a new website/blog for www.AmbianceStudios.com I’ll still have our flash site but this will be our main page to start at.  Its in the process, but very excited.  There will be many more possibilities for everyone with it.  I can’t wait to introduce this to all of our Bride and Groom’s, (wedding photography and video clients) as well as all of our great photographer friends and vendors.
